  • First is as per Form 1300t Australian citizenship, according to which the applicant must be between 18 to 60 years of age.
  • Second as per Form 1290 Australian Citizenship, this is for special considerations when the applicant is aged below 18 years or above 60 years.

The application must be carefully and completely filled for quicker response, there are certain text formats and rules which must be duly followed when filling the application and this is to avoid the same from getting rejected.

In case when applying for a spouse or partner of an Australian citizen you will need to complete and submit the following forms, which must be done by the sponsor. This includes 47SP form- Application for migration to Australia by a partner, and 40SP form – Sponsorship for a partner to migrate to Australia.

Certain documents would be required to complete the application, which must be attached with the filled form.

After filling the form

After you fill the form and attach all the supported documents required you will be offered a unique number, which is Transaction Reference Number or TRN. This number will help you in tracking and managing your application. Also, you can use this number to communicate with the experts and identify your application and can even check the visa entitlements using the same. The application can be made either online or even via paper application, whatever way seems convenient.

Who can get the partner/spouse visa?

Any person who is outside Australia and is in a de facto relationship or is married to a permanent citizen of Australia or an eligible New Zealand citizen is eligible for application. Both parties must share free consent for the relationship.
